When it comes to good health, there are huge differences around the world. While some people are able to live long lives with access to quality medical treatment, for others the average lifespan is significantly shortened in comparison, which is well illustrated, for example, by the prevalence of preventable diseases and the death rate of children. During the Covid-19 pandemic, global asymmetries in relation to health issues were also particularly visible.
The conference “Global Health Justice: Bridging Theory & Practice” now brings together renowned theorists and empirical researchers in the research field of global health justice as well as health practitioners to discuss and narrow the gap between theory and practice in global health. Two keynotes and three panels are expected to be held at the conference, in which theories of the research field between bioethics, political philosophy and law, practical experiences and current health problems will be discussed.
The event is organized by Goethe University’s Global Health Justice Programme, which is funded by the Höpp Foundation, and by Research Centre Normative Orders.
