Inherit the Wind/Who sows the wind | with lecture by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst (political philosopher)
USA 1960 | Director: Stanley Kramer | Running time: 123 minutes
Tennessee, 1925: At a small-town school, the young teacher Cates dares to teach the theory of evolution according to Charles Darwin and is immediately arrested as a result. In the ensuing trial, which goes down in US history as the “monkey trial”, the fundamentalist presidential candidate Brady stands opposite the agnostic, open-minded defense attorney Drummond as the prosecuting attorney. While the townspeople already see the defendant in hell, the prosecution and defense argue in court about faith, science and truth.
