As a result of Hamas’ brutal attack on Israeli citizens on October 7, 2023 and Israel’s response in Gaza, there has been a renewed increase in attacks on Jewish institutions and threats against Jews in Europe. Once again, the question arises as to what needs to be done to sustainably protect Jewish life in Europe and combat structural anti-Semitism.
The next Crisis Talk – on March 5, 2024 at the EU Representation of the State of Hesse in Brussels – will be dedicated to the challenges of this issue and present solutions. The guests will be Stefanie Schüler Springorum (Center for Research on Antisemitism), Katharina von Schnurbein (European Commission), Yohan Benizri (World Jewish Congress) and Oliver Decker (Else Frenkel Brunswik Institute). The Crisis Talks series is organized jointly with the Hessian Ministry for Federal and European Affairs, the Leibniz Research Network “Environmental Crises – Crisis Environments” and the Research Center “Normative Orders” at Goethe University.
