Campus series “Normative Orders”
The research center publishes a series of its own publications with Campus-Verlag. The volumes document the interdisciplinary cooperation at the Center and are each dedicated to the examination of important topics from the Normative Orders research program. Books are published here that examine both general and specific issues that are the subject of research within the network. The series brings together texts that offer an innovative contribution to a topic related to the development of normative orders, but also provide information on the current state of research.
The new series focuses on the current transformation of normative orders both within and beyond states. Empirical and normative analyses are intertwined in the investigation of the processes that determine normative orders.
“Orders of justification” change in conflict-laden processes of public criticism, strategic negotiation and violent enforcement. These phenomena are examined in the same way as local traditions and lifeworlds. They are the source of the justification narratives with which the participants argue and agree on their normative orders. Overall, the result is a comprehensive view of the revolutionary reorganizations that are taking place worldwide today.
The series is edited by Rainer Forst and Klaus Günther.
All publications in the series can be found in the publication database.
