Religion and secularization
About the book
Is religiosity disappearing in the modern age or, on the contrary, is there a return of religions? This handbook examines the dialectic of secularization and the revitalization of religions from a philosophical, sociological and religious studies perspective. Basic concepts are presented, e.g. by Durkheim, Weber, Habermas, Blumenberg and Luhmann. The second part examines concepts such as evil, the sacred, pluralism etc. and their meaning in the context of secularization. Finally, it deals with conflicts such as faith and knowledge, religion and human rights or secularization and the world religions.
