Im Herbst des Jahres 1932, die Weimarer Republik taumelte längst ihrem Ende entgegen, erschien in den Blättern der Staatspartei ein neunseitiger Artikel Hans Kelsens, der mit »Verteidigung der Demokratie« überschrieben war. Die Blätter waren ein Supplement zum Politischen Wegweiser, dem offiziellen Organ der Deutschen Staatspartei, die ihrerseits 1930 aus der Deutschen Demokratischen Partei hervorgegangen war; zwei Jahre später, als der Artikel erschien, war sie in der Bedeutungslosigkeit versunken.
