Normative Orders. Junge Perspektiven / Normative Orders. Young Perspectives

Author workshop and book project

Project manager: Dr. Matthias C. Kettemann LL.M. (Harvard)

At the end of the first two funding periods of the Cluster of Excellence “The Formation of Normative Orders” and with a view to the future of the home of critical norms research, the planned volume provides an overview of central findings and positions of the younger researchers of the postdoc years 2012-2017 and 2017-2018.

The volume reflects the Cluster of Excellence’s focus on promoting young researchers and serves as a powerful record of the diversity, interdisciplinarity and output of the postdocs. It highlights research positions and opens up future positions. At the same time, it is a supplement to the planned anthology on a theory of normative orders by the Principal Investigators of the research network and expands it with young perspectives. The (up to) 30 contributions each work out the central content of the postdocs’ research approaches and results on a few printed pages (approx. 5-7), present viable theses and put their findings into conversation with each other and with the concept of “normative orders”, which they bring to life in this way, anchored in the discipline but effective across disciplines.

In an overall view, the volume represents an important contribution to the visibility of the research results and successes of the postdoc program in the Cluster of Excellence and can serve as a supplement to the anthology of PIs as a contribution to the future of the research network.
