Prof. Dr. Andrea Kießling has been a professor at Goethe University since 2022 and in this role is also Managing Director of the Institute for European Health Policy and Social Law (ineges). She studied law at the University of Münster from 2001 to 2006 before completing her legal clerkship at Essen Regional Court from 2007 to 2009, including a period in Cairo. She then worked at the Ruhr University Bochum as a research assistant and temporary academic advisor, where she received her doctorate in 2012 with a thesis on migration law and habilitated on "Public Health Law" in 2021. In her research, she deals with current population-related issues of health law, in particular heat protection and infection protection, livelihood security law (citizen's income, basic security, sanctions) as well as defense against danger.
