Anthology on Jean-Luc Godard published
The Swiss-French director Jean-Luc Godard’s work, in particular his film essay “Histoire(s) du cinema”, has had a significant impact on the history of cinema. He saw cinema as a witness to the historical catastrophes of the 20th and 21st centuries and gave it a responsibility that goes far beyond that of an art form. The volume “Jean-Luc Godard. Film denken nach der Geschichte des Kinos”, edited by ConTrust speaker Vinzenz Hediger and Rembert Hüser, takes Godard’s work as the starting point for a polyphonic reflection on the histories and futures of cinema. The volume is published by Brill | Fink. Contributors include Jacques Aumont, Raymond Bellour, Nicole Brenez, Georges Didi-Huberman, Lorenz Engell, Daniel Fairfax, Vinzenz Hediger, Rembert Hüser, Adrian Martin, Volker Pantenburg, Regine Prange, Martin Seel, Philip Ursprung and Michael Witt.
