Our Planet, Our Health is a series of conversations on justice issues related to planetary health, designed for a general audience. In each episode, we speak with leading experts from around the world about the ethical, legal, and social challenges at the intersection of global health, the environment, and justice.
Why this series?
Our health shapes how we live, plan our futures, spend time with loved ones, have fun, build careers, and raise children. Every day, we learn more about how human health is deeply intertwined with the health of our planet and with the actions of others.
Our well-being depends on coworkers staying home when they’re sick, on people getting vaccinated, on companies developing new medicines, on lawyers and activists fighting environmental contamination and climate change, on scientists discovering treatments, and on ethicists helping set priorities.
We are a species with complex, intergenerational life plans—and yet we are profoundly vulnerable.
About the project
This series is an initiative of the Global Health Justice Postdoctoral Programme (GHJ), and directed by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst and Prof. Dr. Darrel Moellendorf at Goethe University Frankfurt.This programme is funded by the Höppsche Stiftung

Die neuen Warlords. Gewaltdynamiken einhegen / Friedensgutachten 2026
Die imperialistische Großmachtpolitik ändert die Vorzeichen von Krieg, Frieden und Sicherheit. Staaten agieren zunehmend wie Warlords und setzen Krieg als Mittel der Politik ein. Übergänge von Gewaltkonflikten zu Frieden werden als „Deals“ behandelt, Mittelmächte wie die Golfstaaten treten mit neuem Selbstbewusstsein, aber ambivalentem Kurs auf, und technologische Innovation verändert Kriege und erschwert die Regulierung. Zugleich befindet sich die internationale Kooperation in der Friedenssicherung – etwa in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit oder in den Vereinten Nationen – in ihrer schwersten Krise. Innenpolitisch nehmen auch in Deutschland rassistische Einstellungen zu. Das Friedensgutachten 2026 analysiert Optionen, dennoch Frieden zu fördern.
