Perspectives on excessive police violence and how to deal with it

Symposium / ConTrust Practice Forum

One year after the publication of the book “Gewalt im Amt. Übermäßige polizeiliche Gewaltanwendung und ihre Aufarbeitung”, the team of the research project KviA-Pol together with the research initiative “ConTrust – Vertrauen im Konflikt” is organizing a symposium on 29 May 2024 from 10 am – 5.30 pm at the Goethe University in Frankfurt a.M. on the topic of “Perspectives on excessive police violence”. Together with experts from the police, justice system, civil society and academia, we will discuss problems and possible solutions in three panel sessions.

The symposium is aimed at an interested specialist audience from the aforementioned areas and institutions. Please register by April 29, 2024 at kviapol@uni-frankfurt.de, stating your name and institution.

As we would like to ensure a balanced ratio of participants from the different areas and the number of places is limited, we ask for your understanding that a binding confirmation is only possible after the registration deadline.

The symposium is also the third practical forum of the research initiative “ConTrust – Trust in Conflict”.
