Two chairs, one table, spotlight on: What does the Frankfurt School have to say about the state of society today? On artistic freedom, the future of capitalism, peace and war. The discussion partners take a stand. The spoken word counts. The participants communicate in a way that makes access easier. Reduction of complexity. The positions must be pronounced. Controversy is allowed. The guests do not have to come from Frankfurt, but their work is trained in Frankfurt thinking. With this new series of talks, experts take a stand on global conflicts as well as those that arise in their own urban space. From practical philosophy to the life sciences, all schools of thought are welcome.
At the second event in the series, Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst (Co-Speaker of the “Normative Orders” Research Centre at Goethe University Frankfurt and Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main) will speak with opinion editor Dr. Kia Vahland (Editor for Culture and Humanities in the Opinion section of Süddeutsche Zeitung) on the topic of “Crisis of Democracy?”.
