#StandWithUkraine

On the The “Normative Orders” research center at Goethe University and the “ConTrust: Trust in Conflict” cluster initiative based here explain Russia’s war against Ukraine:
The researchers and staff of the research networks condemn Russia’s brutal war of aggression, which violates international law, in the strongest possible terms. The suffering it causes is immeasurable, and the consequences for the normative orders in which we live, both nationally and internationally, are not yet foreseeable. It is now up to us to support the people in Ukraine as best we can; for us as research institutions, this applies in particular to scientists who have fled. At the same time, we would like to warn against spreading the conflict into society. People from many nations and with a wide variety of cultural affiliations live together in Germany – anti-Russian resentment is unacceptable. Particularly in times of crisis, respect and tolerance towards all people living here are proof of a democratic society. Our solidarity also goes to the courageous people in Russia who are raising their voices against the war despite the repression and dangers to themselves, as well as to the thousands of Russian scientists and science journalists who have expressed their protest in an open letter: Here…
In the following, we document the contributions and statements of researchers and partner institutions involved in our research networks:
