Why crying alone does not educate. The demands placed on concentration camp memorials
About the anthology
Although the history of the National Socialist concentration camps has been the subject of intensive research for several decades, there is still a lack of information. At the same time, the public approach to Nazi history and its consequences is changing. This volume brings together new research findings and debates on the history and post-history of the concentration camps as well as on the culture of remembrance and commemoration. It presents empirical results from a wide range of international research with innovative categories such as space, gender and digitality.
