The power of the plum tree. In memory of Jürgen Zarusky
This volume focuses on political justice in its diverse historical manifestations between democracy and dictatorship. The contributions present impressive case analyses from Germany, the (former) Soviet Union, Italy and Slovakia: Justice as a transmission belt of modern dictatorships, but also as a central institution for dealing with state-organized violent crimes. The starting point is Jürgen Zarusky’s concept of political justice for the comparative study of the National Socialist and Stalinist dictatorships. This volume is dedicated to the historian who died in 2019.
