Soziale Marktwirtschaft und Ordoliberalismus zur Einführung

Die Soziale Marktwirtschaft ist zweifelsohne das wirkmächtigste Konzept der deutschen Wirtschaftspolitik. Der in den 1940er Jahren eingeführte Begriff entwickelte sich vor dem Hintergrund des wirtschaftlichen Aufschwungs Westdeutschlands und angesichts seiner vielfältigen Anschlussfähigkeit zu einem Containerwort, auf das sich heute quasi alle politischen Kräfte positiv beziehen können. Aber wofür steht die Soziale Marktwirtschaft konzeptionell, welche theoretischen Wurzeln liegen ihr zugrunde? Die Ursprünge führen zurück in die späten 1920er Jahre, in denen sich ein neuer Liberalismus formierte, der seit den 1950er Jahren in seiner deutschen Variante als Ordoliberalismus firmiert. Dieser Band zeigt auf, wie sich diese Konzeption bis in die Gegenwart entwickelt hat und warum sie auf nationaler und sogar auf europäischer Ebene so einflussreich werden konnte.
