The Research Center Normative Orders regularly participates in the supporting program of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image with scientific contributions.

B3 Biennale des bewegten Bildes 2019

October 15 to 20, 2019


This year, the B3 flagship exhibition has the main theme REALITIES with the categories Immersion, Virtual Reality, Film and Artificial Intelligence and will take place in strategic cooperation with THE ARTS+ Future of Culture Festival at the Frankfurt Book Fair in Hall 4.1. The Cluster of Excellence “The Formation of Normative Orders” is a parcous partner for the fifth time in 2019 and contributes to the supporting program.


B3 Biennale des bewegten Bildes 2017

November 29 to December 3, 2017

In 2017, the Cluster of Excellence is participating for the fourth time in the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image, which is taking place this year under the theme “On Desire. On Desire” is taking place. As a parcour partner, it is represented with its own program, consisting of four lectures and a panel, at the festival center FOUR Frankfurt.


B3 Biennale des bewegten Bildes 2015

As part of the B3 Biennial of the Moving Image 2015, lectures, guided tours and other events of “Sense of Doubt. Against Forgetting” of the Cluster of Excellence “The Formation of Normative Orders” with the video art exhibition “memórias inapagáveis” took place in the Metzlerpark of the Museum Angewandte Kunst. The museum was the festival venue for the B3 Biennale. The scientific-artistic project “Sense of Doubt” was also part of the B3 Biennale.


B3 Biennale Autumn School and Think Tank 2014

The B3 Think Tank was established in 2014 alongside the B3 Autumn School. Here, the experts teaching at the B3 Autumn School and other guests met for a media summit to discuss future-oriented topics in an interdisciplinary manner.

Key Visual B3 Biennial of the Moving Image 2013 Credit: B3 Designstudio “Expanded Narration. The new narrative” was the main theme of the B3 Biennale of the Moving Image 2013. The Cluster of Excellence “The Formation of Normative Orders” participated with an extensive program. It is sponsored by the State of Hesse with the Ministry of Science and the Arts, the Hessian Regulatory Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media (LPR Hessen) and the City of Frankfurt am Main. The Biennale is conceived and organized by the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach am Main.
