Cohesion through law?

About the book:

To what extent can the law strengthen social cohesion? On the one hand, it is traditionally ascribed a function of order and thus also a function of pacification, without which a complex society cannot exist. On the other hand, it initially organizes this society only as a coexistence of legal entities, which does not necessarily result in a coexistence of citizens. Based on this analysis, the contributions in this volume explore the question of what other services the law can provide for social cohesion, what limits it is subject to and what consequential problems arise from this.
