56. Römerberggespräche: Wie hältst Du’s mit der Migration
Zuwanderung scheint aktuell das wichtigste Problem Deutschlands zu sein. Mit dem Thema werden Wahlen gewonnen oder verloren. Die Angst vor wachsender Kriminalität, Terroranschlägen ausländischer Täter und die Alarmrufe überforderter Kommunen bilden ein Schreckensszenario, mit dem populistische Parteien das Polit-Establishment vor sich hertreiben.
Wer sich heute noch zur Willkommenskultur bekennt, wer das uneingeschränkte Recht auf Asyl verteidigt oder auf die Bedeutung der Migration für den Arbeitsmarkt und die Sozialsysteme verweist, wird als weltfremd und blind für die Sorgen eines Teils der Bevölkerung denunziert.
Zeit für einen Faktencheck und mehr Differenzierung: Was ist begründete Sorge, was medialer Hype, was politisch motivierte Panikmache? Was sagt die Kriminalstatistik? Was sind Möglichkeiten, Chancen und Grenzen der politisch gestalteten Zuwanderung? Und was geschieht mit einer Gesellschaft, deren Problembewusstsein sich auf die Frage der Eindämmung unerwünschter Migration verengt?
