The co-spokesperson of the research center “Normative Orders” and political scientist Prof. Nicole Deitelhoff receives a LOEWE top professorship, which is located at Goethe University and the Leibniz Institute Hessian Foundation for Peace and Conflict Research (HSFK).
The excellence funding is valid for the period from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2028. The total funding provided by the state of Hesse and Goethe University Frankfurt amounts to almost three million euros.
The research made possible by the LOEWE funding will directly follow on from Nicole Deitelhoff’s studies on the productivity of conflicts and will focus, among other things, on the question of how peace regimes can be designed in such a way that they promote trust and contain conflicts. The findings gathered by the LOEWE research group should be able to be used fruitfully for European and international security and peace architectures. “I am delighted to be able to continue my work at Goethe University and the HSFK. The LOEWE top professorship enables me to establish a research group at the university and HSFK that investigates the conditions under which conflicts become (world) order conflicts. A question that is also and especially important in the context of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine,” says Prof. Nicole Deitelhoff.
