Climate lawsuits, the question of the rights of nature, criminal and constitutional classification of climate protests. The list of complex issues that unfold in the mirror of law and climate change is long. In the series “Klima vor Gericht/Climate Contested. Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Law(s) in the Ecological Crisis” will take a closer look at the most pressing of these issues. In the first block, renowned academics will provide perspectives on the complex of topics on four dates.
The event is organized by Dr. Johann Horst from the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory as well as Marie-Theres Piening, Prof. Dr. Tobias Singelnstein (PI ConTrust), Prof. Dr. Doris Schweitzer and Alina Wandelt from Goethe University. A continuation of the series is planned for the summer semester 2024.
