Professorship of the Cluster of Excellence – Ethnology of Colonial and Postcolonial Orders

The following research projects were carried out by Prof. Schröter and her colleagues at the Cluster Professorship: “New Discourses on State and Society in the Islamic World” (doctoral group); “Religious and Local Orders in Java. Islam, the re-emergence of tradition and everyday life in Java, Indonesia”, “Feminist discourses in the Islamic world” and “Muslim life in Wiesbaden”.
The work carried out at the Cluster Professorship formed the basis for the founding of the Frankfurt Research Center Global Islam at the Cluster of Excellence Normative Orders in 2014.
