Mirco Göpfert teaches anthropology at Goethe University Frankfurt. His current research explores the intersection of humour, knowledge and politics. His previous work focuses on police, bureaucracy and the state. Main research areas:- Humor and satire (as epistemic practice)
- Ethnology of the State and Bureaucratic Practice / Violence and Security / Crime and Punishment / Power and Resistance
- Relational ontology / phenomenological approaches in ethnology / practice theory
- Heuristics and methodology of social and cultural anthropology
