In his lecture at the start of the ConTrust Speaker Series in the winter semester 2023\/24, Dr. James Tunde Y\u00e9k\u00fa will examine how so-called &#8220;netizenships&#8221;, the most direct and condensed form of cultural and political commentary in social media, react to state institutions such as the police and their extrajudiciality and violence in Nigeria, thus bringing grievances into the public eye. <br\/><br\/>Dr. James James Y\u00e9k\u00fa is Assistant Professor of African and African-American Studies at the University of Kansas, USA.
