In current debates about the crisis of democracy, it is sometimes said that we are living in a time of “anti-democratic regression”, and if it is a phenomenon that develops within democratic systems, it is also called “democratic regression”.<\/p>\n\n
The lecture “Democracy in times of regression. Normative and contemporary diagnostic considerations” by Prof. Dr. Rainer Forst (Professor of Political Theory and Philosophy and Director of the “Normative Orders” Research Centre at Goethe University Frankfurt) as part of the Goethe Lectures Offenbach will examine the normative preconditions of the concept of regression, understood as a diagnosis of the “rule of unreason”. The political philosopher will also present reflections on the causes of anti-democratic regression and the paradoxes of our time. <\/p>\n\n
The public lecture will take place on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Klingspor Museum in Herrnstra\u00dfe in Offenbach am Main. Admission is free. Following the lecture, there will be an opportunity to enter into discussion with the speaker.<\/p>\n\n
