Doch Landri\u00e1n war ein Freigeist, der sich nicht an sozialrealistische Darstellungskonventionen halten wollte. &#8220;Das System&#8221; bestrafte und \u00e4chtete ihn und sein Werk wurde zensiert. F\u00fcnfzig Jahre sp\u00e4ter konnte ein Teil seines Schaffens gefunden und restauriert werden. In ihrem Vortrag wird sich Jessica Gordon-Burroughs insbesondere mit Landri\u00e1ns letztem, im Exil entstandenen Film, INSIDE DOWNTOWN, besch\u00e4ftigen, der bisher wenig besprochen wurde: \u201e(\u2026) Inside Downtown, co-directed with Jorge Egusquiza, has barely been discussed in the growing critical literature on his oeuvre. This omission points to the persistent difficulties of making visible cinematographic works produced outside national production systems.
